Multiskift is a concept for transforming traditional bus stops or terminals into multifunctional mobility hubs that offer additional services and features for both travelers and locals. Designed as unstaffed community spaces, Multiskift includes practical facilities, service options, and activities. It aims to rethink the needs of Movia’s customers by enhancing mobility and services during waiting periods, while also connecting bus stops with their local surroundings. The project has been developed for five municipalities across Denmark: Copenhagen, Ballerup, Odsherred, Brøndby, and Frederikssund.

The project focuses on transforming bus stops into meaningful public spaces. This transformation is informed by research into existing contexts, functions, and activities at each site. An analytical tool is used to map these conditions, helping identify necessary functions to improve each location. From this, an idea catalog is created, offering a selection of possible functions and activities tailored to each site.

Additionally, a collage of architectural concepts and illustrations is developed to showcase how new functions can be incorporated into the bus stops with simple, aesthetically pleasing installations. These concepts will serve as a foundation for ongoing discussions with the municipalities about the specific transformation of each bus stop.
