Award of framework agreement for new build with KAB
WE Architecture, in collaboration with Mangor & Nagel (now AART), has been awarded the framework agreement with the housing organizations within the KAB community and will contribute to shaping the organizations' new projects in the next 4 years.
Founded in 1920, KAB is one of Denmark's oldest and the largest administrative organizations, managing over 60,000 rental units and more continuously being added. Securing the framework agreement for new construction is therefore a significant milestone:
In the KAB community there are visionary and energetic developers. They are known in the industry for creating some of Denmark's most pioneering affordable housing projects. It can, for example, be that innovative, high-quality shared facilities, a mixed composition of residents or public functions that are incorporated in the building. Their focus on innovation, synergies and strong communities is something we see ourselves in and are passionate about, so we are looking forward to the collaboration!
– Marc Jay, WE architecture.
AN IMPORTANT MILESTONE
Both WE and Mangor and Nagel have worked together with housing organizations in the KAB community on both renovations and new builds in recent years. The upcoming collaboration with KAB and the housing organizations therefore marks a new and important milestone for both:
In Denmark, we have an absolutely fantastic tradition of building public housing, where historically it has been some of the best Danish architects who have designed quality housing for everyone - regardless of income and social status. And it obliges! As a team, we will help continue to build beautiful, quality homes for ordinary people with an ordinary income, and we are very happy to have to do this in collaboration with housing organizations in the KAB community!
– Bente Andersen, managing director at Mangor & Nagel.
A WELL-ESTABLISHED PARTNERSHIP
WE and Mangor & Nagel have collaborated successfully on many previous projects, and the partnership between the two design studios is a very conscious constellation of two different types of architectural firms:
At the top, you can say that we combine years of experience with general construction with a more recently established design studio - this combination gives an insane amount in the creative process and towards the new buildings being ready for the residents
– Claus Smed Søndergaard , creative director at Mangor & Nagel.
