The Municipality of Sønderborg is developing a strategy to maximize and strength the urban potentials as attractive municipality. While Sønderborg is already a well-functioning city and a popular tourist attraction, many smaller towns in the municipality are looking for their own identity.

The process consists in developing the identity of each individual city in the municipality, using all the existing qualities, to redefine its role in the municipal board. The proposals are strictly individual and connected with the identity of the cities, but together they create synergies that make the municipality more attractive to visit and settle in. The concepts are focused on three small communities, Egernsund, Augustenborg and Nordborg.
