Originally built as part of an active farm and later converted into a summer boarding house in 1906, Hotel Nørrevang was once a cherished landmark in the seaside town of Marielyst. Over time, the traditional inn fell into disrepair, standing abandoned for years with a deteriorating thatched roof and overgrown grounds. By 2018, the once-beloved hotel had become an eyesore at the heart of the main street. WE quickly decided that we owed it to the building to bring out the very best of its character again.
Under new ownership, a dedicated restoration brought Hotel Nørrevang back to its former glory. The building’s original features—half-timbering, a thatched roof, and side-hung windows—have been meticulously restored, preserving its historic charm. Walking through the property today evokes nostalgia, as one can imagine the generations of summer holidays, celebrations, and memories once hosted here. The hotel retains its signature atmosphere of cosiness and festivity, now serving as a renewed framework for creating new experiences.
The restored property includes 26 fully renovated hotel rooms, along with a main house featuring a restaurant, bar, fireplace lounge, conference room, and a communal courtyard—revitalizing its role as a cornerstone of Marielyst hospitality.
