The Næstved Healthcare Campus is a series of buildings that connects Næstved city center with the post office site in an urban movement along Teatergade. Backed into the landscape, the roof of the building connects directly to the park behind at a range of different levels creating a series of roof gardens accessible to the public. The volume of the central building is reduced so that the building facing the park appears more as a series of pavilions, more an extension of the park than a building.

Upon entering the building, you are greeted by a multifunctional foyer, a "Danish-Spanish" staircase that provides overview and a direct connection to all the other functions of the building. The foyer, located in the center of the building, is a space that combines both café functions, an open study environment, exhibition facilities, community gathering and space for informal stay.

The staircase, a versatile centerpiece, provides not only physical connectivity for the users of the space, but as well serves as a passage for the whole city creating a direct connection from the park towards the street, through the house. It's a green connection that serves as both a social and as an exhibition space, giving passers-by a sneak peak into the everyday life of the institution.
