Queen Mary and King Frederik X visit Assens Municipality

On August 21, King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark continued their summer tour aboard the Royal Yacht Dannebrog with a visit to Assens Municipality. This year, the historic town of Assens marks its 500th anniversary as a market town, with its earliest market town rights dating back to 1524.

During their visit, the royal couple made several stops in the area including Peter Willemoes School, Forsyningsparken as well as our culture house and library, Kulturkajen.
