WE believe in 'Altruistic Sustainability'

Alkes Have - a community housing project for Boligselskabet Sjælland consisting of wooden, low-energy units distributed as a circular village with a central common garden containing both beehives, greenhouse and plantbeds etc.

Inspired by Nobel laureate Elinor Ostrom's research on how people act when it comes to sharing resources, WE are currently exploring what the future resource communities might look like. By constructing buildings and communities that encourage the sharing of social, economic and environmental resources, we aim to contribute to the UN’s climate goals.

Our vision is to create sustainable architecture that not only benefits the planet but also enables individuals to gain more from the communities than they contribute. We call this approach altruistic sustainability.
